Christmas Card

Here is another card I created using the "Bells and Boughs" stamp set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  I love the Poinsettia image and I also used the retired background stamp called "Linen" to add a subtle effect to the Old Olive Cardstock.  I noticed that this card was very close to the Stampin' 411 sketch this week!!!  I couldn't enter it over there because that wouldn't be honest!!  So I will add it here, on my blog...I hope you like it!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Season of Joy (sentiment), Bells and Boughs, Linen BG stamp (retired)
Paper: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz markers, Crumb Cake for sponged edges, Early Espresso for Sentiment
Tools: Oval and Scallop Oval Punches, Scalloped Edge Punch
Extras: Victoria Lace Ribbon

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge #61

I finally got the chance to stamp today with my good friend Glenda.  We have not stamped together forever and it was nice to sit and chat and share all the tips and things we have found on the internet and from other stampers.
I wanted to use the Bells and Boughs set today.  It was the first thing I ordered for Christmas and I LOVE the way it stamps, it has a lot of fine detail and those are the kind of stamps I love.  Today I used the Pals Paper Arts Sketch and stamped the Holly Stamp from the Bells and Boughs set onto Very Vanilla Paper.  I inked it up in Early Espresso and coloured it with my Old Olive and Real Red Markers.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler.  This sketch is perfect for mass producing a Christmas Card and I think I will use this sketch again!!  I sponged all the edges in Espresso.  The Ribbon is from the Holiday Mini and it called "Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding".  I LOVE the way it ties!!!

Here is the sketch...

And here is my card...

The best thing about Stampin' Up is that everything matches...so I used the beautiful new designer paper in the Holiday Mini called Deck the Halls.  The Bells and Boughs stamp set matches the images in the Designer Paper perfectly.

Paper Players Challenge #17-An Inspiration from LeAnne

Paper Player Design Team member, LeAnne, has just welcomed her first granddaughter to the world!  Her name is Cassidy and she is absolutely adorable.  I wasn't surprised when LeAnne chose an adorable baby image as her inspiration photo for this week's challenge!!

I have realized that I need more baby type stamps. So instead of going ga-ga for baby images, I decided to make a "Congratulations" card for a proud grandma or mama....using the pretty colour combo of Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Crumb Cake.

I love the Vintage Vogue set and paired it up with some retired Bella Bleu DSP, using a couple of crumb cake DSP pieces as my two main panels of the card.  The sketch is from Splitcoast Stampers and is Sketch Challenge #259.  I liked the layout and thought it showed off the colours nicely.  I used my crimper to crimp the main strip of paper that fits across the card.  I also used my En Francais background stamp to create the main pink background panel of the card.  The edges are all sponged.

I hope you get the chance to play with us this week!!  To see the designs of the other team members and to play along, please click HERE.

Paper Players Challenge #16-A Sketch Challenge

Today at the Paper Players Challenge Blog, we are challenging you with a sketch!  I hope you will like the sketch I have created and find some time to play with us this week!  I know how busy life can get and this past week I have been unable to craft at all!  So it was nice to sit down today and create something simple and clean.

I decided to use some of the fun designer paper called "Jolly Holiday" and I went with this polka-dotted piece.  The dots reminded me of the stamp set called "Season of Joy".  It has polka dots in the snowflake image and in the sentiment.  I also changed my the shape of the boxes down the side of the card to circles to mimic the dotted pattern I was going for.

Paper Players Challenge #15-A Colour Challenge

The amazing Ann Schach has created a beautifully warm and cozy colour challenge for us this week at the Paper Players!  She has chosen the colours Old Olive, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso...doesn't that make you think of warm cozy sweaters and a fireplace aglow...

My card is a clean and simple look at these colours.  I wanted to mix things up a bit and make a square card.  My card measures 4.25" x 4.25".  I embossed all 4 squares and used my Little Leaves die to add a touch of Old Olive.  The sentiment comes from the new set called "Word Play".

I hope you get the chance to come and play with Ann's Colours and the Paper Players this week!

Mojo Monday #155

I have a feeling this will be my last Mojo Monday for a while! School starts tomorrow and soon I will be focused on teaching my little Grade 2/3 class.  I have moved to a new school and am excited for the unexpected!

I really liked the sketch offered over at the Mojo Challenge blog.  It was challenging for sure and I decided less was more for this particular sketch.  I inked up a new stamp set called "A Wish for Peace" that I bought because of my friend Jaydee's gorgeous card found HERE.  She inspired me so much, I just had to have this set! Although it is not new in Stampin' Up's catalogue, it is such a great stamp set to work with and it's classic appeal keeps it fresh and fun to work with.

So here is my card:

I actually wound up colouring the trees with a soft green colour but my camera died so I couldn't take another photo!!  Oh well!  I added some snow to the trees with a Blender Pen and some White Craft Ink.  Then I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the snow, to make it shine.

Paper Players Challenge #14-Clean and Simple

This week at the Paper Players Challenge Blog we are encouraging you with a Theme!!  Jaydee has created our theme this week, one of which she is the Queen and that is Clean and Simple!  Yeah!  I love to make Clean and Simple cards!

So I decided to use the awesome sketch that Stamping 411 had last week and created my card.

The Designer Paper is from the Big Catalogue and is called Jolly Holiday.  I LOVE this paper!!  I used a strip of it underneath my main image on Old Olive cardstock and punched out an edge with my pretty Eyelet Border Punch.  The main image is called Dasher and the ribbon was created using the new 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon in the Mini Catalogue...it ties so nicely!  The sentiment comes from the set called "Contempo Christmas".

Come on by the Paper Players this week to check out the other DT samples and to link up your Clean and Simple Card!!!  Click HERE to get there!
